A Resume is a Technical Based Sales Document

We’ve been discussing about how to write a Resume for quite a while and there’re many blog posts that I’ve published detailing how job seekers should structure their Resume to make it more effective in securing interviews.

However, I noticed that as time passes, there’s an increasing trend of people misunderstanding the purpose of a Resume. In their perspective, the Resume is nothing more than a sales document that sells themselves to prospective employers who, if interested, will call up the individual for interviews.

They’re not wrong when they think that the Resume is a Sales Document. But they’re not entirely correct either. In simple terms, the Resume comprised 2 main aspects – The Technical and the Sales Aspect. The Technical Aspect of a Resume is a document that contains your Credentials, your past Work Experiences, Education and other skills that you’ve acquired over time.
